Summary of Language and cultural related work done by others

Other than LDLP linguists there has been no major research on Pangwali as a language specifically, till now but here are some of books give some information on Pangi and Pangwali language.

This manual has a small note on Pangwali community. It discusses about caste categorization, culture, work, historical origin & religion. This manual does not have any description on the language but it is only an anthropology survey.

This manual is a detailed description on Pangi. Description includes historical perspective, people group, religion & customs, folk culture, ancient monuments, economy and transformation in Pangi valley. This manual does not include Pangwali language analysis.

This site has given brief information of Pangi population (1991 census), religion, language classification, alternative names, language use, and little demographic information.

This book gives a detailed view of Pangi valley, its historical background, inhabitants, marriage system, sub-valleys, gate way to the valley, trek routes, winter in the snow bound valley, fairs, festival and their temples, hardship of employees, tribal development policy & the changing scenario. As this book commented negatively about Pangi culture, Pangi people have burnt this book & it’s rarely available in the markets of Chamba district.
